Hamburg
June 17th: had to get up early to catch the 9:37 train to Hamburg - a 5 hour ride. After about 2 hours we had to transfer onto a ferry (incl the train!)
2:30 pm: arrived in Hamburg a much busier city than the previous ones visited. After checking in we explored the inner city and finished the day with a typical local dinner at the Schifferbörse.
June 18th: ...off to breakfast... explored Hamburg starting from the Repperbahn, along the Elbe, to the Harbor, and back via old town to our Hotel. Had a "Euro-Cup Fussball" dinner at one of the many places that are set up with screens and little booths with food & drinks.
June 19: Oh what an adventure to get your rental car in Hamburg. After confirming required documents - Drivers license, Credit card, and reservation code I (on my own) was ready to go. Not so much Hertz. Had to call Brent to bring my passport. Now Hertz needed written confirmation that we had a valid insurance... Well, after 1 1/2 hours of forth and back we are happy to announce that we are now proud drivers of a pretty nifty Ford Mondeo with all the bells and whistles one can ask for :-).
We are set to start the "driving" part of our vacation. Next stop Berlin (via Stralsund and Ruegen).
